This week we’re breaking with our (recent tradition). We’re going to try not pre-recording the Lead prayer at the start, and the family time. We’ll live stream them from our Zoom and upload them later. So If you’re checking this out before they are up you’ll only see a message and some songs.

Humans love building stuff. Did you make play houses when you were young ? In the backyard, in the bush, out of blocks, out of Lego ? What is it about building houses that is so satisfying.
Do you rent or own the space you currently live in ? What have you done to it to make it yours? Our homes tend to reflect our personality’s and values and priorities. What does your home say about you ?
The Bible tells a story that makes sense of our longing for home, by suggesting that our ultimate longing is satisfied in the God who makes his dwelling with us.
Chapters 25-31 give the details of building the tabernacle. Why do you think there issue much detail ?
What basis are God’s peopel to make an offering (25:1-2) ?
Why are they building a tabernacle (25:8, 29:45-46, 40:34)
Bezalel is the first person spoken of having been ‘filled with the spirit’. His task is to designed and build . What does that suggest about the spirits work in our live ?
Mike, Chris and Paul, reflected on whether they would see that in theirs ? Can you see it in yours ? If so how ?
In the New testament the movement of the tabernacle is towards us.
John 1:14 can be translated as “The word became flesh and tabernacled among us”. Paul writes Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? (1 Corinthians 3:16-17). The you yourselves is plural (i.e. we are God’s temple – not I am God’s temple). That suggests that our relationships, our gathering are part of the place that God dwells.
How’s the temple building project going ?
Paul talked about ‘chasing God, rather than ignoring him”. Chris said “if there’s a problem on site; phone the architect”. Mike said it was crucial to ‘keep the communication ongoing”.
